A Festive Celebration: Mississippi Wing’s Christmas Party Wraps Up a Record-Breaking Year!!!

The Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force closed out an extraordinary year with a memorable Christmas Party in the hangar. The event saw a fantastic turnout, as members, supporters, and aviation enthusiasts gathered to celebrate another year of success and camaraderie.

Honoring Commitment and Dedication

During the celebration, awards were presented to recognize the dedication and hard work of officers and appointees. In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, Wing Leader Colonel Frank Garletts presented each officer and appointee with a personalized Commemorative Air Force ball cap, thanking them for their unwavering commitment to the Wing’s phenomenal success in 2024.

A Record-Breaking Year for Hangar Hangover

A major highlight of the evening was Colonel Roddy Merritt’s presentation of a record-breaking check from this year's Hangar Hangover event. The event brought in an astonishing $13,000, marking an all-time high for fundraising. This success was fueled by record-breaking crowds, an incredible lineup of cars for the car show, and a stunning array of planes attending the event. The funds raised will go toward furthering the Wing’s mission of preserving and celebrating aviation history.

Festivities, Food, and Fun

No holiday party would be complete without great food and festive entertainment. Attendees enjoyed a delicious feast before wrapping up the night with a lively Dirty Santa gift exchange, bringing plenty of laughter and good-natured competition. The Christmas Party was the perfect way to close out an incredible year and set the stage for an even bigger and better 2025.
