Welcome to the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force

PT19Dunn

The year is 1943 and the aircraft manufacturing and pilot training is in full production. One of these aircraft, a PT-19A, is complete and headed towards a training base in Mississippi. In April 1944, the aircraft arrives at Columbus Army Air Field in Mississippi only to learn the war machine is winding down. By June of 1944, the aircraft is at Laurel Army Air Field and remains there till the war ends.

It's Christmas time 2019 and the story picks up with the Mississippi Wing bringing the aircraft home. Col Bob Dunn loved and owned this aircraft for 41 years. He took anyone who wanted up for a ride and made the airshow circuit in Texas in order for people to see, hear and touch history. Unfortunately, Col Bob passed away this year and wanted the aircraft as part of the CAF. The Mississippi Wing is currently purchasing this aircraft so we can bring her home. Please click on the photo and head over to our fundraising webpage and support us in keeping history alive! If only 200 people donate $25.00, we can easily reach our goal!
